Modelling Friction Phenomena in the Dynamics Analysis of Forest Cranes
A dynamics analysis of a forest crane, with a special consideration of friction in joints, is considered. The LuGre friction model is applied in all revolute and prismatic joints of the crane.

Identification of Friction Parameters for Limited Relative Displacement Contacts
Damping using dry friction has long been recognized as an effective control method for many vibration problems. However, given the strong nonlinear nature of friction, the theoretical and experimental investigations of associated non-linear control ...

Variable Friction Device for Structural Control based on Duo-Servo Vehicle Brake: Modeling and Experimental Validation [PDF]
Supplemental damping can be used as a cost-effective method to reduce structural vibrations. In particular, passive systems are now widely accepted and have numerous applications in the field. However, they are typically tuned to specific excitations and

Cascade controlled pneumatic positioning system with LuGre model based friction compensation [PDF]
This paper proposes a cascade controller with friction compensation based on the LuGre model. This control is applied to a pneumatic positioning system. The cascade methodology consists of dividing the pneumatic positioning system model into two subsystems: a mechanical subsystem and a pneumatic subsystem.

A review of friction models in interacting joints for durability design. [PDF]
This paper presents a comprehensive review of friction modelling to provide an understanding of design for durability within interacting systems. Friction is a complex phenomenon and occurs at the interface of two components in relative motion.
