ABSTRACT Heavily calcified coronary lesions remain a major challenge in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), often limiting the effectiveness of intravascular lithotripsy (IVL). We report a five‐case series in which IVL failed to achieve adequate lesion modification but was successfully augmented by the addition of one or more buddy wires.

The lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) is one of the revolutionary devices recently developed for gastrointestinal endoscopy. This device has a saddle-shaped design and large lumen. It was originally designed for drainage of transmural pancreatic fluid collection and in the last few years it has been used extensively for that indication.
