Luminescence and Luminescent Materials
Journal of Electronics and Control, 1958ABSTRACT A general review of luminescent materials is given, with some emphasis on the more recent applications. The theoretical aspects of the absorption and emission processes are discussed briefly.

Luminescence, 1999
This is the first in an occasional survey of Internet sites relating to luminescence. This is just a small selection of available sites and readers are reminded that web pages are sometimes very temporary in nature. The authors welcome details of additional sites of interest to the readers of this journal. Copyright 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Efficiency of luminescence in luminescent solar concentrators
Applied Optics, 1983The power efficiency of luminescence excited by solar radiation in luminescent solar collectors is calculated for a glass sheet doped with Cr3+. The achievable chemical potential for an optically thick absorber irradiated by diluted blackbody radiation as a function of Cr3+ concentration, sheet thickness, sunlight dilution, and luminescence quantum ...

Luminescent Tentacles is an interactive installation inspired by waving tentacles of sea anemones in the depths of the ocean. Comprised of 256 shape-memory alloy actuators, the elongated forms move in response to hand movements. Further accentuating the movement, the tip of each actuator softly glows like a bioluminescent organism.

Chemical Reviews
Organic radicals are attracting increasing interest as a new class of molecular emitters. They demonstrate electronic excitation and relaxation dynamics based on their doublet or higher multiplet spin states, which are different from those based on singlet-triplet manifolds of conventional closed-shell molecules.

ON THE LUMINESCENCE OF ESTROGENS
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 1974Abstract—The absorption, fluorescence, and phosphorescence of a series of estrogens is reported. The behavior of estrogens without a keto‐group is compared with that of the isolated phenylic, phenolic and naphtholic chromophores. In the latter two, attachment to the steroidal frame is inconsequential as regards their luminescent behavior.

Luminescence dating is part of a suite of trapped charge dating techniques used in Quaternary research. It is a geochronological technique which provides absolute dating for geological events and archeological artifacts from the late Quaternary and, with a dateable age range between a few years and a few hundred thousand years, has become a broadly ...

Ultraviolet luminescence and electro-luminescence of polydihexylsilane
Journal of Luminescence, 1997Abstract We report the ultraviolet (UV) electro-luminescence (EL) of highly purified polysilanes at low temperatures (below 210 K) for the first time. We observed a sharp EL band in highly purified polydihexylsilane (PDHS) thin film at 3.35 eV (370 nm) which is attributed to the radiative decay of the 1Bu exciton state. The decrease of the EL quantum
