Interplay of defect levels and rare earth emission centers in multimode luminescent phosphors
Information encryption technology calls for versatile multi-mode luminescent materials. Here, the authors develop phosphors with five integrated luminescence modes by exploiting the interplay of defect levels and rare-earth emission centers.

Isotopic fingerprints of Pt-containing luminescence centers in highly enriched Si-28 [PDF]
Recently we have shown that the reduction in the photoluminescence linewidth of many deep luminescence centers in highly enriched Si-28 results in well-resolved isotopic fingerprints.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Cr3+ and Cr4+ luminescence in glass ceramic silica [PDF]
This paper reports on the effect of glass ceramic silica matrix on [CrO4](4-) and Cr2O3 NIR and visible luminescence. Chromium-containing silica was obtained by precipitation from water-glass and chromium nitrate acid solution with thermal treatment at ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Detection of Luminescence Centers in Colloidal Cd\(_{0.3}\)Zn\(_{0.7}\)S Nanocrystals by Synchronous Luminescence Spectroscopy [PDF]
With the advantages of selectivity, spectral resolution and reduction of interference on account of light scattering, synchronous luminescence spectroscopy (SLS) is successfully applied to analyze complex mixtures with overlapped emission and/or ...

Nature of red luminescence in oxygen treated hydrothermally grown zinc oxide nanorods [PDF]
© 2015 Published by Elsevier B.V. A strong broad red luminescence (RL) peak centered at 1.69 eV (FWHM=0.57 eV) at 15 K [1.78 eV (FWHM=0.69 eV) at 300 K] is formed in ZnO nanorods hydrothermally grown at low temperature following thermal annealing at 650 °

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...
