CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Laser stimulated luminescence in KCl and NaF containing color centers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A broad luminescence band was found in laser irradiated KCl and NaF crystal containing color centers. This emission extends on both sides of the laser line and is interpreted as "hot" fluorescence due to radiative retrapping of laser ionized color ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Unexpected luminescence of Cr5+ and Cr3+ ions in ZrSiO4 zircon crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Luminescence, decay-times and EPR spectroscopy of Cr-doped ZrSiO4 show the presence of both Cr3+ and Cr5+ active centers, which can be connected with Zr4+ and Si4+ adjacent two-cation replacement.
