Semi‐supervised classification of fundus images combined with CNN and GCN
Abstract Purpose Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious complications of diabetes, which is a kind of fundus lesion with specific changes. Early diagnosis of DR can effectively reduce the visual damage caused by DR. Due to the variety and different morphology of DR lesions, automatic classification of fundus images in mass screening can ...

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

Abstract Purpose To assess whether the joint application of hybrid iterative reconstruction (HIR) and an adaptive filter (AF) could reduce streak artifacts and improve image quality of neck‐and‐shoulder computed tomography (CT). Methods This study included 96 patients with suspicious neck lesions who underwent a routine nonenhanced scan on a 64‐slice ...

Abstract Background Ultrasonography (US) and 99mTechnetium‐sestamibi scintigraphy (99mTc‐MIBI) are currently first‐line imaging modalities to localize parathyroid adenomas with sensitivities of 80% and 84%, respectively. Therefore, finding other modalities to further improve the diagnostic accuracy for preoperative localization is critically needed ...

A Mini-survey of X-ray Point Sources in Starburst and Non-Starburst Galaxies [PDF]
We present a comparison of X-ray point source luminosity functions of 3 starburst galaxies (the Antennae, M82, and NGC 253) and 4 non-starburst spiral galaxies (NGC 3184, NGC 1291, M83, and IC 5332).

The Hawaii-AAO K-band Galaxy Redshift Survey -- Paper I: The Local K-band Luminosity Function [PDF]
We present the K-band local luminosity function derived froma sample of 1056 bright (K<15) K-selected galaxies from the Hawaii-AAO K-band redshift survey. The Hawaii-AAO K-band redshift survey covers 4 equatorial fields with a total area of 8.22 $\deg^2$.

The Protostellar Luminosity Function
The protostellar luminosity function (PLF) is the present-day luminosity function of the protostars in a region of star formation. It is determined using the protostellar mass function (PMF) in combination with a stellar evolutionary model that provides ...

Luminosity monitors at the LHC [PDF]
We study the theoretical accuracy of various methods that have been proposed to measure the luminosity of the LHC pp collider, as well as for Run II of the Tevatron p barp collider.

The galaxy luminosity function in clusters and the field [PDF]
We present the results from a CCD survey of the B-band luminosity functions of 9 nine clusters of galaxies, and compare them with published photographic luminosity functions of nearby poor clusters like Virgo and Fornax and also to the field luminosity function. We derive a composite luminosity function by taking the weighted mean of all the individual

What is L*?: Anatomy of the Galaxy Luminosity Function [PDF]
Using the empirical relations between the central galaxy luminosity and the halo mass, and between the total galaxy luminosity in a halo and the halo mass, we construct the galaxy luminosity function (LF). To the luminosity of the central galaxy in a halo of a given mass we assign log-normal scatter with a mean calibrated against the observations.
