Electrochemical Synthesis and Morphological Analysis of Titanium Dioxide Nanostructures: Nanotubes, Nanograss, and Nanolace

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the electrochemical synthesis and morphological control of TiO2 nanostructures, including nanotubes, nanograss, and nanolace. Adjusting anodization parameters establishes key aspects of growth mechanisms, providing a pathway for optimizing TiO2 nanostructures for applications in sensors and nanotechnology. Titanium dioxide (TiO2)

Pulsar Luminosity Function [PDF]

open access: yesRev.Mex.Astron.Astrofis.39:267-274,2003, 2002
We construct and investigate the pulsar luminosity function using the new catalogue which includes data for 1315 radio pulsars. The luminosity functions are constructed for 400 and 1400 MHz separately, and they are compared. Also, the luminosity functions excluding the binary millisecond pulsars and other pulsars with low magnetic fields are ...

Precision luminosity measurement at ILC

open access: yes, 2013
In these proceedings a novel approach to deal with the beam-induced effects in luminosity measurement is presented. Based on the relativistic kinematics of the collision frame of the Bhabha process, the beam-beam related uncertainties can be reduced to ...

Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing of High‐Nitrogen Alloyed FeCr(Si)N Stainless Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The alloying element Nitrogen enhances stainless steel strength, corrosion resistance, and stabilizes austenite. This study develops austenitic FeCr(Si)N steel production via powder metallurgy. Fe20Cr and Si3N4 are hot isostatically pressed, creating an austenitic microstructure.

Tailored Nickel Base Multilayer Systems with Adjusted Grain Size and Chemical Composition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nickel base multilayer systems are fabricated with pulsed electrodeposition and adjusted according to grain size and copper content. The material is characterized with scanning electron microscopy in combination with energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy and for deeper insights to the multilayer interfaces with transmission electron microscopy ...

Luminosity determination at the Tevatron [PDF]

open access: yesLHC Lumi Days: LHC Workshop on LHC Luminosity Calibration CERN-Proceedings-2011-001, pp. 90-95, 2011
In this paper we discuss the luminosity determination at the Tevatron. We discuss luminosity measurements by the machine as well as by using the luminosity detectors of the CDF and D0 experiments. We discuss the uncertainties of the measurements, the effort to maximize the initial and integrated luminosity, the challenges and the lessons learned.

Spray Deposition for Solvent Annealing of Hybrid Poly(3,4‐Ethylenedioxythiophene) Polystyrene Sulfonate Cellulose Silver Nanowire Composite Electrodes Using a Roll‐to‐Roll Coater

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The fabrication and post‐treatment via solvent annealing of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate‐based electrodes using spray deposition in a roll‐to‐roll setup are presented. The decrease in sheet resistance and its correlation with nanostructure and molecular structure in the electrodes as a function of the processing parameters is ...

Improving Cyclic Oxidation Resistance of Additively Manufactured IN939 Superalloy via Chemical Vapor Aluminizing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effect of a NiAl coating on additively manufactured (AM) IN939 to improve its cyclic oxidation resistance at 1050 °C. The coating promotes protective α‐Al2O3 formation, allowing durability for up to 240 cycles, while uncoated AM‐IN939 experiences spallation and weight loss due to nonprotective oxides.

Covalently‐Bonded Diaphite Nanoplatelet with Engineered Electronic Properties of Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel approach to engineering the electronic properties of diamond is reported on the diaphite nanoplatelet consisting of (11¯${{\bar{1}}}$1) planes of diamond nanoplatelet covalently bonded with graphite (0001) planes. The strong sp3/sp2‐hybridized interfacial covalent bonding induces the electron transfer from diamond to graphite, resulting in a ...

Facet‐Junction Induced Strong Metal Support Interaction for Enhanced Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, a novel facet‐junction strategy is proposed to enhance the strong metal‐support interaction (SMSI) between the loaded Ru atoms and the Co3O4 support. The synthesized structure with the incorporation of Ru doping and the (100)/(111) crystal plane junction has a particular influence on the catalyst's hydrogen evolution reaction (HER ...
