Physiological Factors Affecting Lung Deposition
Journal of Aerosol Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery, 2021Ventilation and mechanics of breathing are an integral part of respiratory physiology that directly affect aerosol transport and deposition in the lung. Although natural breathing pattern varies widely among individuals, breathing pattern is controllable, and by using an appropriate breathing pattern, aerosol deposition can be substantially modified ...

Lung deposition from four nebulizers
Respiratory Medicine, 1993The total and regional deposition of aerosol has been compared using four nebulizers; the Pari Boy 37.80, Pari IS-2, RespirGard II and Penta-Sonic. The aerosol was radiolabelled with [99Tcm]DTPA, administered to ten healthy subjects and the distributions monitored by gamma scintigraphy.

Mechanisms of Aerosol Lung Deposition
2021The mechanism of aerosol delivery, deposition, and absorption is an important factor that controls the process of aerosol delivery and efficacy. Several factors control aerosol particle depositions in the lung, some of these factors depend on the patient itself while other factors are related to the drug formulation and the emitted aerosol particle ...

Regional Lung Deposition:In VivoData
Journal of Aerosol Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery, 2020The method section of this chapter on in vivo regional lung deposition highlights a nonradioactive method to measure regional deposition, which uses a photometer to quantify inhaled and exhaled particles and in that way is able to estimate the lung region from which the particles are exhaled and to what amount.
