Epidermal growth factor prevents prepartum luteolysis in the rat [PDF]
We have previously reported that intrauterine (i/u) administration of epidermal growth factor (EGF 500 ng) on day (d) 21 of pregnancy delayed 19.0 ± 0.6 h the onset of labor. Progesterone (P) is secreted by ovarian corpora lutea (CL) throughout gestation in the rat.

L‐Theanine Ameliorates Doxorubicin‐Induced Ovarian Toxicity by Reducing Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress
L‐theanine is the most important nutraceutical compound in green tea. The aim of this study is to investigate for the first time whether LTN has any therapeutic effect on DOX‐induced ovarian toxicity, especially in terms of endoplasmic reticulum stress.

ABSTRACT Purpose Embryo‐maternal signaling during the establishment of pregnancy in horses remains one of the biggest mysteries in large animal physiology. Early pregnancy loss represents a major source of economic loss to the breeding industry. This study aimed to investigate the systemic changes associated with early pregnancy by mapping the proteome

Ovarian Dehydrogenase Activities: Suggested Adrenal Involvement in Luteolysis
Immature rat ovarian dehydrogenase activity was studied during corpus luteum regression following withdrawal of prior pregnant mare serum gonadotrophin. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity declined to nontreatment levels whereas 6-phosphogluconate, malate, and isocitrate dehydrogenase dehydrogenases exhibited a partial return to normal ...

To model the hormonal environment of sheep during pregnancy, estradiol (E2), progesterone (P4) and interferon‐tau (IFN‐τ) were used. The sheep endometrial epithelial cells (sEECs) were then stimulated with different concentrations of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to determine suitable concentrations for inducing inflammation, while FABP4 expression was ...

Effects of Splenectomy on Luteolysis in Pseudopregnant Rabbits.
The effects of splenectomy on luteolysis in pseudopregnant rabbits were observed. Pseudopregnancy was induced in the rabbits by mating with vasoligated mature males and injection of human chorionic gonadotrophin (D0). In these rabbits, the concentration of serum progesterone increased for 7 days after the induction of pseudopregnancy.

Unraveling the Clinical FSH Conundrum: Insights From the Small Ovarian Reserve Heifer Model
ABSTRACT High doses of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) are used during ovarian stimulation to maximize the number of oocytes recovered for in vitro fertilization (IVF) during assisted reproductive technology (ART) in women. Whether high FSH doses are detrimental to embryo viability remains controversial.
