Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

The near-room-temperature upsurge of electrical resistivity in Lu-H-N is not superconductivity, but a metal-to-poor-conductor transition

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes, 2023
The recent report of superconductivity in nitrogen-doped lutetium hydride (Lu-H-N) at 294 K and 1 GPa brought hope for long-sought-after ambient-condition superconductors.

Emission Spectra of LSO and LYSO Crystals Excited by UV Light, X-Ray and γ-ray [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Because of their high stopping power (X_o = 1.14 cm, R_(Moliere) = 2.07 cm) and fast (~ 40 ns) bright (4 times of BGO) scintillation, cerium doped lutetium oxyorthosilicate (LSO) and cerium doped lutetium-yttrium oxyorthosilicate (LYSO) crystals have ...

Positive‐Tone Nanolithography of Antimony Trisulfide with Femtosecond Laser Wet‐Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A butyldithiocarbamic acid (BDCA) etchant is used to fabricate various micro‐ and nanoscale structures on amorphous antimony trisulfide (a‐Sb2S3) thin film via femtosecond laser etching. Numerical analysis and experimental results elucidate the patterning mechanism on gold (reflective) and quartz (transmissive) substrates.

A comparative study of X-ray tomographic microscopy on shales at different synchrotron facilities: ALS, APS and SLS. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Synchrotron radiation X-ray tomographic microscopy (SRXTM) was used to characterize the three-dimensional microstructure, geometry and distribution of different phases in two shale samples obtained from the North Sea (sample N1) and the Upper Barnett ...

Study of the volume and spin collapse in orthoferrite LuFeO_3 using LDA+U

open access: yes, 2009
Rare earth (R) orthoferrites RFeO_3 exhibit large volume transitions associated with a spin collapse. We present here ab initio calculations on LuFeO_3.

Oral Dosed Organo‐Silica Nanoparticles Restore Glucose Homeostasis and β‐Cell Function in Diabetes Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An oral nanoplatform, MOP@T@D, which can maintain glucose homeostasis and restore islet β cells in diabetic rats is developed. It achieves efficient intestinal absorption and liver‐targeted delivery. The nanoparticle disintegrates only in response to hyperglycemia to release insulin on demand and provides antioxidant protection through selenoprotein ...
