Another Antibody Related to the Lutheran Blood Group System (Much.)

open access: yesVox Sanguinis, 1973
Abstract. A new antibody, Much., is added to the list of antibodies related to the Lutheran blood group system. The family of the maker of the antibody provides some evidence that the corresponding antigen is not controlled from the Lutheran locus.

Assignment of the Auberger Red Cell Antigen Polymorphism to the Lutheran Blood Group System: Genetic Justification

open access: yesVox Sanguinis, 1991
Abstract. Family studies have provided the final piece of evidence for the assignment of Auberger to the Lutheran blood group system. Lods derived from combined paternal and maternal meioses (ẑ = 10.83 at ô=0.00) strongly support the contention that a single gene controls the expression of both Au and LU antigens.

LU21: a new high‐frequency antigen in the Lutheran blood group system

Vox Sanguinis, 2004
Background and Objectives  The Lutheran blood group system comprises 18 antigens numbered LU1 to LU20, with two numbers obsolete. Thirteen antigens are of high frequency.Materials and Methods  Serological tests were performed by conventional methods. The monoclonal antibody‐specific immobilization of erythrocyte antigens (MAIEA) assay was carried out ...

Molecular bases of the antigens of the Lutheran blood group system

Transfusion, 2003
BACKGROUND: Lutheran is a complex blood group system consisting of 18 identified antigens. There are four pairs of allelic antigens, whereas others are independently expressed antigens of a high frequency. Lutheran antigens are carried by the Lutheran glycoproteins, which are a product of a single gene LU.STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: Genomic DNA from 21 ...

Phenotype frequencies of blood group systems (Rh, Kell, Kidd, Duffy, MNS, P, Lewis, and Lutheran) in north Indian blood donors

Transfusion and Apheresis Science, 2010
We here report the first study of antigen and phenotype frequencies of various blood group systems by gel technology in north Indian blood donors.A total of 1240 regular repeat voluntary north Indian blood donors of O blood group were included for red cell antigen typing of Rh (D, C, E, c, e) and Kell (K) blood group systems.
