Molecular protocol for authentication of snappers (Lutjanidae-Perciformes) based on multiplex PCR

Food Chemistry, 2017
Fraud involving fish products is regularly reported and investigated using genetic methods. However, no such approach has been applied to snappers, despite the commercial relevance of these fish. This study proposes an authentication protocol with multiplex PCR for three species of snappers (Lutjanus purpureus, L. synagris, and Ocyurus chrysurus).

The complete mitochondrial genome of the golden snapper Lutjanus johnii (Perciformes: Lutjanidae)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
We describe the complete mitochondrial genome of the golden snapper Lutjanus johnii. It was assembled from approximately 1.4 million reads produced by Ion Torrent next generation sequencing. The complete genome was 16,596 bp in length consisting of 13 protein-coding regions, 22 tRNA, 12S and 16S rRNA as well as two non-coding regions.
