Estimation of Parameters in Inhomogeneous Neyman‐Scott Processes Using Presence/Absence Data

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 37, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Environmental monitoring is of particular importance for studying biodiversity and ecosystems. Many environmental monitoring programs emphasize plant registrations as part of their inventory responsibilities. The effect of light availability and spatio‐temporal heterogeneity on the soil seed bank diversity in temperate forests

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 3, March 2026.
Light is a key driver of understory plant diversity, also important for seed germination, yet its effect on forests soil seed bank diversity remains underexplored. This study assessed the impact of both light availability and spatio‐temporal heterogeneity on soil seed bank diversity.

Century‐long trends in plant diversity of temperate mountain vegetation are modulated along elevation gradient

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
Resurvey studies in mountain forests of the Tatra Mountains (Central Europe) show that plant diversity has increased over the past century, particularly at lower elevations. These shifts were associated more with increased nitrogen deposition and reduced grazing pressure than with direct climate warming.
