Wearable exoskeleton robot control using radial basis function‐based fixed‐time terminal sliding mode with prescribed performance

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper tackles the problem of robust and accurate fixed‐time tracking in human–robot interaction and deals with uncertainties. This work introduces a control approach for a wearable exoskeleton designed specifically for rehabilitation tasks.

Providing Long-Term Participation Incentive in Participatory Sensing

open access: yes, 2016
Providing an adequate long-term participation incentive is important for a participatory sensing system to maintain enough number of active users (sensors), so as to collect a sufficient number of data samples and support a desired level of service ...

Lyapunov-Based Reinforcement Learning State Estimator

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we consider the state estimation problem for nonlinear stochastic discrete-time systems. We combine Lyapunov's method in control theory and deep reinforcement learning to design the state estimator. We theoretically prove the convergence of the bounded estimate error solely using the data simulated from the model.

Risk‐aware safe reinforcement learning for control of stochastic linear systems

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a risk‐aware safe reinforcement learning (RL) control design for stochastic discrete‐time linear systems. Rather than using a safety certifier to myopically intervene with the RL controller, a risk‐informed safe controller is also learned besides the RL controller, and the RL and safe controllers are combined together ...

Boundary feedback stabilization of a flexible wing model under unsteady aerodynamic loads

open access: yes, 2018
This paper addresses the boundary stabilization of a flexible wing model, both in bending and twisting displacements, under unsteady aerodynamic loads, and in presence of a store.

Modeling and parameter estimation for fractional large‐scale interconnected Hammerstein systems

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper addresses the challenge of modeling and identifying large‐scale interconnected systems exhibiting memory effects, hereditary properties, and non‐local interactions. We propose a fractional‐order extension of the Hammerstein architecture that incorporates Grünwald–Letnikov operators to capture complex dynamics through multiple ...

Novel Sparse Algorithms based on Lyapunov Stability for Adaptive System Identification [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2018
Adaptive filters are extensively used in the identification of an unknown system. Unlike several gradient-search based adaptive filtering techniques, the Lyapunov Theory-based Adaptive Filter offers improved convergence and stability.

Regenerative energy management of electric drive based on Lyapunov stability theorem

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2019
In recent years, urban rail systems have developed drastically. In these systems, when induction electrical machine suddenly brakes, a great package of energy is produced.

Performance improvement of discrete‐time linear‐quadratic regulators applied to uncertain linear systems using the Tikhonov regularization method

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract The linear‐quadratic regulator (LQR) problem of optimal control of an uncertain discrete‐time linear system (DTLS) is revisited in this paper from the perspective of Tikhonov regularization. We show that an optimally chosen regularization parameter reduces, compared to the classical LQR, the values of a scalar error function, as well as the ...
