Eigenpairs for the Analysis of Complete Lyapunov Functions [PDF]

open access: yesComplexity, 2022
A complete Lyapunov function describes the qualitative behaviour of a dynamical system: the areas where the orbital derivative vanishes and where it is strictly negative characterise the chain recurrent set and the gradient-like flow, respectively ...

Analysis of a Lorenz-Like Chaotic System by Lyapunov Functions [PDF]

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
In this paper, we investigate the ultimate bound set and positively invariant set of a 3D Lorenz-like chaotic system, which is different from the well-known Lorenz system, Rössler system, Chen system, Lü system, and even Lorenz system family. Furthermore,

Fractional Dynamics of Stuxnet Virus Propagation in Industrial Control Systems

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
The designed fractional order Stuxnet, the virus model, is analyzed to investigate the spread of the virus in the regime of isolated industrial networks environment by bridging the air-gap between the traditional and the critical control network ...

Spherical Inverted Pendulum on a Quadrotor UAV: A Flatness and Discontinuous Extended State Observer Approach

open access: yesMachines, 2023
This article addresses the problem of balancing an inverted spherical pendulum on a quadrotor. The full dynamic model is obtained via the Euler-Lagrange formalism, where the dynamics of the pendulum is coupled to the dynamics of the quadrotor, taking as ...

Nonlinear Optimal Control for the Nine-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

open access: yesPower Electronics and Drives, 2023
Multi-phase electric motors and in particular nine-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (9-phase PMSMs) find use in electric actuation, traction and propulsion systems.

A Differential Lyapunov Framework for Contraction Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2014
Lyapunov's second theorem is an essential tool for stability analysis of differential equations. The paper provides an analog theorem for incremental stability analysis by lifting the Lyapunov function to the tangent bundle. The Lyapunov function endows the state-space with a Finsler structure.

Non-linear optimal control for multi-DOF electro-hydraulic robotic manipulators

open access: yesIET Cyber-systems and Robotics, 2020
A non-linear optimal (H-infinity) control approach is proposed for the dynamic model of multi-degree-of-freedom (DOF) electro-hydraulic robotic manipulators.

Lyapunov Analysis of the Chaotic Colpitts Oscillator [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2019
In this paper, chaotic behavior of the Colpitts oscillator is studied and analyzed. The analyses consider the locally unstable behavior based on the linearization around the equilibrium and the globally bounded stability, which guarantees that the trajectories converge to an attractive and bounded set.

Lyapunov-based Transient Stability Analysis

open access: yes2022 IEEE 61st Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2022
The paper presents an analytical control solution to the problem of transient stabilization of lossy multi-machine power systems. Firstly, a new form of control Lyapunov function candidates with a flexible potential-energy-like term is proposed. This is achieved mainly by introducing an auxiliary state that contributes to the derivation of a cross-term.
