Novel Robust Stability Criteria for Uncertain Stochastic Neural Networks with Time-Varying Delay [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2009
This paper considers the robust stability analysis problem for a class of uncertain stochastic neural net- works with time-varying delay. Based on the Lyapunov functional method, and by resorting to the new technique for estimating the upper bound of the

A Unifying Approach to Self‐Organizing Systems Interacting via Conservation Laws

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The article develops a unified way to model and analyze self‐organizing systems whose interactions are constrained by conservation laws. It represents physical/biological/engineered networks as graphs and builds projection operators (from incidence/cycle structure) that enforce those constraints and decompose network variables into constrained versus ...

“It Is Much Safer to Be Sparse than Connected”: Safe Control of Robotic Swarm Density Dynamics with PDE Optimization with State Constraints

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a novel control framework to ensure safety of a robotic swarm. A feedback optimization controller is capable of driving the swarm toward a target density while keeping risk‐zone exposure below a safety threshold. Theory and experiments show how safety is more effectively achieved for sparsely connected swarms.

Exploiting Ferroelectric and Spintronic Dynamics for Neural Network Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric and spintronic devices, relying on the control of polarization and magnetization, offer intrinsically fast, durable, energy‐efficient, and low‐latency building blocks for analog in‐memory computing. The hysteretic dynamics of an order parameter are leveraged to provide nonvolatile, multistate memory and nonlinear switching. Brain‐inspired

Nonlinear Volterra difference equations in space lp

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2004
We consider a class of vector nonlinear discrete-time Volterra equations in space lp and derive estimates for the norms of solutions. These estimates give us explicit stability conditions, which allow us to avoid finding Lyapunov functionals.

Application of the general methods of Lyapunov functionals construction for Volterra difference equations

open access: yes, 2004
: Lyapunov functionals are used usually for stability investigation of systems with aftereffect. The general method of Lyapunov functionals construction which was proposed and developed by Kolmanovskii and Shaikhet is used here for stochastic second ...

Epidemiological Models and Lyapunov Functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena, 2007
Summary: We give a survey of results on global stability for deterministic compartmental epidemiological models. Using Lyapunov techniques we revisit a classical result, and give a simple proof. By the same methods we also give a new result on differential susceptibility and infectivity models with mass action and an arbitrary number of compartments ...
