Discrete Implementations Modify the Intuition of Final Set Adjustment in Barrier Function Based Control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper establishes an implementation‐aware framework for Barrier Function Adaptation (BFA) and shows that discrete‐time realizations fundamentally alter the logic of final‐set adjustment. In particular, sufficient conditions are derived to preserve the key benefits of BFA (predefined performance, gain adaptation with uncertain perturbation

Existence of Ψ Bounded Solutions for a Lyapunov Matrix Dierential Equation

open access: yesAnnals of the West University of Timisoara: Mathematics and Computer Science, 2014
It is proved a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of at least one Ψ- bounded solution of a linear non- homogeneous Lyapunov matrix differential equation.

Computation of Minimal Realizations of Periodic Systems

open access: yes, 1998
We propose balancing related numerically reliable methods to compute minimal realizations of linear periodic systems with time-varying dimensions. The first method belongs to the family of square-root methods with guaranteed enhanced computational ...

The Discrete Lyapunov Equation of The Orthogonal Matrix in Semiring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Semiring is an algebraic structure of (S,+,×). Similar to a ring, but without the condition that each element must have an inverse to the adding operation.

Output‐Feedback H∞$$ {H}_{\infty } $$ Detector‐Based Control of Continuous‐Time Markov Jump Lur'e Systems With Sector‐Bound Optimization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the problem of dynamic output‐feedback H∞$$ {H}_{\infty } $$ detector‐based control for continuous‐time Markov Jump Lur'e Systems with uncertain transition rate matrices. In contrast to conventional approaches, the proposed synthesis conditions are derived using Finsler's lemma, introducing additional slack variables to ...

On the Ψ-Conditional Asymptotic Stability of Nonlinear Lyapunov Matrix Differential Equations

open access: yesAnnals of the West University of Timisoara: Mathematics and Computer Science, 2015
It is proved (necessary and) sufficient conditions for Ψ − conditional asymptotic stability of the trivial solution of linear or nonlinear Lyapunov matrix differential equations.

Numerical solutions to large-scale differential Lyapunov matrix equations

open access: yes, 2017
International audienceIn the present paper, we consider large-scale differential Lyapunov matrix equations having a low rank constant term. We present two new approaches for the numerical resolution of such differential matrix equations.

Control Systems Design With Enlarged Stability Domains for Nonlinear Constrained Systems via Sum‐of‐Squares Optimization

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Designing safe control laws for nonlinear systems is challenging, especially when ensuring stability under actuator saturation and state constraints. A key aspect is embedding controllers with a Region of Attraction (ROA), which defines initial conditions guaranteeing convergence to a stable equilibrium point (EP).

Generalized Stability of Motion and Matrix Lyapunov Functions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1995
The author develops stability criteria for matrix differential equations in terms of matrix Lyapunov functions and matrix valued norm. For this purpose, necessary matrix differential inequalities, existence of extremal solutions and comparison results are proved.

High‐Order Sliding‐Mode control for MIMO Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper extends Lyapunov‐based homogeneous high‐order sliding‐mode control to a class of uncertain non‐square multi‐input multi‐output (MIMO) nonlinear systems with a well‐defined vector relative degree. The considered systems admit a normal‐form representation with an uncertain but full‐row‐rank input‐gain matrix.
