Trajectory Control of Manipulator Robots With Uncertainties: A Saturated Continuous Integral Sliding Mode Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study addresses the trajectory tracking control for manipulator robots with uncertainties. The main objective is to ensure that the robot follows a desired trajectory despite the presence of uncertainties/disturbances and considering control input constraints. The approach is developed in the framework of continuous integral sliding modes.

Observer based output feedback repetitive learning control of robotic manipulators

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications
This work tackles the tracking control problem of robotic manipulators where the robot dynamics contains uncertain parameters and joint velocity measurements are not available.

Characterizing symmetric spaces by their Lyapunov spectra

open access: yes, 2019
We prove that closed negatively curved locally symmetric spaces are characterized up to isometry among all homotopy equivalent negatively curved manifolds by the Lyapunov spectra of the periodic orbits of their geodesic flows.

The Lyapunov spectrum as the Newton method [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2012
For a class of dynamical systems, the cookie-cutter maps, we prove that the Lyapunov spectrum coincides with the map given by the Newton-Raphson method applied to the derivative of the pressure function.

Applying Dynamics/Cost Parameter Continuation to the Optimal Guidance of Variable‐Speed Unicycle

open access: yesOptimal Control Applications and Methods, EarlyView.
(a) Classical parameter continuation method diverges. (b) Dynamics/cost parameter continuation method converges. ABSTRACT The problem of a variable‐speed unicycle guidance to the stationary target is considered. The vehicle should be guided to the origin while minimizing the energy loss due to the induced drag.

Seasonal variations in planktonic food web structure affect stability by shifting the distribution of energy fluxes

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Seasonality in temperate ecosystems shapes species phenology, influencing interactions and food web structure. Variations in species richness and biomass affect trophic interaction strength, a crucial factor for community stability, which can be assessed through energy fluxes – an essential indicator of ecosystem function.

Bipartite Consensus on Coopetition Networks With Time-Varying Delays

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, the bipartite consensus problem is investigated for multiagent systems with second-order dynamics and antagonistic interactions. We consider bipartite consensus under two kinds of protocols.

Ensemble Kalman filter in latent space using a variational autoencoder pair

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
The use of the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) in strongly nonlinear or constrained atmospheric, oceanographic, or sea‐ice models can be challenging. Applying the EnKF in the latent space of a variational autoencoder (VAE) ensures that the ensemble members satisfy the balances and constraints present in the model.

Noise-Tolerant Zeroing Neural Network for Solving Non-Stationary Lyapunov Equation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
As a crucial means for stability analysis in control systems, the Lyapunov equation is applied in many fields of science and engineering. There are some methods proposed and studied for solving the non-stationary Lyapunov equation, such as the zeroing ...
