Somatic hybridization between Lycopersicon esculentum and Lycopersicon pennellii

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1985
Selection and screening methods were devised which resulted in the identification of a number of somatic hybrid callus clones following fusion of Lycopersicon esculentum protoplasts and L. pennellii suspension culture protoplasts. Visual selection for callus morphology combined with a high fusion frequency and irradiation of one parental protoplast ...

Polar epicuticular lipids of Lycopersicon pennellii

Phytochemistry, 1987
Abstract Trichome exudates of Lycopersicon pennellii yielded nine 2,3,4-tri-O-acylglucose esters as α- and β-anomers from the polar fraction of the epicuticular lipid mixture. The esters were primarily derived from 2-methylpropanoic, 2-methylbutanoic, 3-methylbutanoic, 8-methylnonanoic and n-decanoic acids, together with trace quantities of 10 ...

Lycopersicon esculentum lines containing small overlapping introgressions from L. pennellii

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1992
The objective of this project was to introgress small overlapping chromosome segments which cover the genome of L. pennellii into Lycopersicon esculentum lines. The interspecific hybrid was backcrossed to L. esculentum, and a map of 981 cM, based on 146 molecular markers covering the entire genome, was produced.
