LESSER: a catalogue of spectroscopically selected sample of Lyman-alpha emitters lensed by galaxies
We introduce the LEnSed laeS in the Eboss suRvey (LESSER) project, which aims to search for lensed Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) in the Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS).

Context. JWST provides a unique dataset for studying the earliest stages of reionisation at z > 9, promising insights into the first galaxies. Many JWST/NIRSpec prism spectra of z > 5 galaxies have revealed smooth Lyman-alpha breaks, implying damping ...

HOW LYMAN ALPHA EMISSION DEPENDS ON GALAXY STELLAR MASS [PDF]
ABSTRACT In this work, we show how the stellar mass (M *) of galaxies affects the 3 < z < 4.6 Lyα equivalent width (EW) distribution. To this end, we design a sample of 629 galaxies in the M * range from the ...

Two Micron‐Size Dark Dimensions
Abstract Two extra dimensions of micron scale might simultaneously address the gauge and cosmological hierarchy problems. In this paper various observational bounds in scenarios with one and two large extra dimensions are examined, to see if they are compatible with the micron scale.

The physics of Lyman-alpha escape from disc-like galaxies
Hydrogen emission lines can provide extensive information about star-forming galaxies in both the local and high-redshift Universe. We present a detailed Lyman continuum (LyC), Lyman-alpha (Ly{\alpha}), and Balmer line (H{\alpha} and H\b{eta}) radiative ...

Abstract The use of matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this review is the 12th update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2022.

We present a study of a sample of 45 spectroscopically confirmed, UV luminous galaxies at z ∼ 6. They were selected as bright Lyman-break galaxies (LBGs) using deep multiband optical images in more than 2 deg ^2 of the sky, and subsequently identified ...

We present new GHRS observations of Lyman alpha absorption lines associated with a group of galaxies towards the QSO 1545+2101. We have identified eight distinct Lyman alpha absorption features in the spectrum of QSO 1545+2101 at a mean redshift of z=0.2648 with a velocity dispersion of 163 km/s.

Abstract This comprehensive study focuses on interannual oscillations from 1 to 25 years in the F, E, and D region ionosphere. By leveraging longterm (1960–2018) continuous ground‐based ionosonde and phase height measurements in northern Germany, we have identified the peak periods and temporal variations of these oscillations using advanced analysis ...

Relation between ionized gas kinematics and Lyman-alpha observables in galaxies
In the early universe, galaxies can be detected via their Lyman-alpha emission, which is redshifted in the optical wavelength range (1215:7 Å, 2p to 1s transition of hydrogen). However, not all galaxies in the early universe show Ly-alpha emission.
