Not-so-little Red Dots: Two Massive and Dusty Starbursts at z ∼ 5–7 Pushing the Limits of Star Formation Discovered by JWST in the COSMOS-Web Survey
The Astrophysical Journal LettersWe present the properties of two candidate massive ( M _⋆ ∼ 10 ^11 M _⊙ ) and dusty ( A _v > 2.5 mag) galaxies at z = 5–7 in the first 0.28 deg ^2 of the COSMOS-Web survey. One object is spectroscopically confirmed at z _spec = 5.051, while the other has Fabrizio Gentile, Caitlin M. Casey, Hollis B. Akins, Maximilien Franco, Jed McKinney, Edward Berman, Olivia R. , 2007 We use deep GALEX images of CDFS in UV to define the first large sample of 420 Lyman Break Galaxies at z~1. We use a PSF fitting to estimate UV magnitudes on these deep crowded images. Deep Spitzer IRAC and MIPS provide the first detection of a large sample of Lyman Break Galaxies in the mid- to far-infrared range.Burgarella, D., Floc'h, E. Le, Takeuchi, T. T., Buat, V., Huang, J. SED Modeling Assumptions and Their Impact on the Stellar Mass Function at 6.5 ≤ z ≤ 13.5 Using PEARLS and Public JWST Observations
The Astrophysical JournalWe utilize deep JWST Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) observations for the first direct constraints on the Galaxy Stellar Mass Function (GSMF) at z > 10.Thomas Harvey, Christopher J. The Discovery and Star-forming Properties of Galaxies in the Epoch of Reionization at 6.5 < z < 18 with PEARLS and Public JWST Data
The Astrophysical JournalWe present in this paper the discovery, properties, and a catalog of 1165 high-redshift 6.5 12 in our sample and describe their properties. Finally, we note a significant observed excess of galaxies compared to models at z > 12, revealing a tension ...Christopher J.
