We study the stellar population properties of 182 spectroscopically confirmed (MUSE/VLT) Ly α emitters (LAEs) and 450 photometrically selected Lyman-break galaxies (LBGs) at z = 2.8–6.7 in the Hubble Extreme Deep Field.

Abstract The use of matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this review is the 12th update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2022.

The properties of Lyman break galaxies atz∼ 5 [PDF]
In a recent paper, Lehnert & Bremer have photometrically selected a sample of Lyman break galaxies at z > 4.8 from a single VLT/FORS2 pointing and spectroscopically confirmed half of them to be at 4.8 28, i AB 0) from the Hubble Space Telescope Advanced Camera for Surveys (HST ACS) images of the Chandra Deep Field-South. This selection results in a

Measuring the Quantum State of Dark Matter
It is demonstrated how the time series obtained from searches for ultralight bosonic dark matter, such as the axion, can be used to determine whether it is in a coherent or incoherent quantum state. Abstract It is shown how the time series obtained from searches for ultralight bosonic dark matter (DM), such as the axion, can be used to determine ...

The Ly α damping wing is seen in absorption against the spectra of high-redshift galaxies. Modeling of this wing is a way to measure the volume neutral hydrogen fraction of the Universe, as well as to measure the strength of H i absorption in the form of

HerMES: Herschel-SPIRE observations of Lyman break galaxies [PDF]
ABSTRACT We present first results of a study of the submillimetre (submm) (rest-frame far-infrared) properties of z∼ 3 Lyman break galaxies (LBGs) and their lower redshift counterparts BX/BM galaxies, based on Herschel-SPIRE observations of the Northern field of the Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey (GOODS-N).

A JWST Pure-Parallel Search for the First Galaxies With PANORAMIC
The James Webb Space Telescope offers unparalleled capabilities for observing the most distant objects in the universe, allowing us to study the first galaxies to form. In this work, the Lyman-break technique and spectral energy distribution fitting were

Measurement of [O
Measurements of [OIII] emission in Lyman Break galaxies (LBGs) at z>3 are presented. Four galaxies were observed with narrow-band filters using the Near-IR Camera on the Keck I 10-m telescope. A fifth galaxy was observed spectroscopically during the commissioning of NIRSPEC, the new infrared spectrometer on Keck II.
