Structure, localization and potential role of a novel molluscan trypsin inhibitor inLymnaea
Eggs and egg masses of the freshwater gastropod mollusc Lymnaea provide a microenvironment for developing embryos. Secretions of the exocrine albumen gland of Lymnaea are packaged in the eggs of an egg mass before the eggs are laid externally.

Reconsolidation and memory infidelity in Lymnaea
Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, 2007Lymnaea stagnalis were operantly conditioned to not perform aerial respiratory behaviour in a specific context (i.e. context-1). The memory for this learned response was reactivated 3 days later in context-1. During the 1 h reconsolidation period following memory reactivation, randomly picked snails were either maintained in context-1 or exposed to a ...

Immunorecognition in Lymnaea stagnalis
Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 1983Abstract Phagocytic blood cells (amoebocytes) of the common pond snail, Lymnaea stagnalis, produce a protein which functions in immunorecognition. In the serum it has agglutinating and opsonizing properties, on the surface of amoebocytes it occurs as a cytophilic receptor for foreignness.

The age-related changes in hemolymph cellular composition of snail Lymnaea stagnalis (Gastropoda, Pulmonata) obtained from individuals of a natural population (the river Pripayt, Gomel region, Belarus) as well as in the spectrum of cytomorphological traits of hemocyte genetic damages have been studied. The percentage of the distinguished hemolymph cell

The Lymnaea Respiratory System
2001Lymnaea has proven to be a fantastic model system in which to elucidate the neuronal mechanisms that underlie the control of respiratory behaviour1. In this paper I will attempt to convince you that it is also a fantastic model in which to study the neuronal mechanisms that constitute learning and memory.
