Life History of Lymnaea columella (Say) and its Experimental Infection with Fasciola hepatica (L.)
The life history of Lymnaea columella was studied under laboratory conditions at Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. The snail matured in 21 to 23 days after hatching, when shell length was 5 to 6 mm. A culture box 27 X 21 X 11 cm. provided adequate space for a colony of 20 adult specimens. A mature snail raised individually produced an average of 20 eggs daily.
