Physical and chemical changes in isolated chylomicrons: prevention by EDTA

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1970
When washed chylomicrons obtained from the lymph of rats, which had been fed corn oil, were maintained at 0-4°C in 0.9% NaCl, the following physical and chemical changes were observed to occur: increased polarity of chylomicron lipids, increased ...

ApoB48 as an Efficient Regulator of Intestinal Lipid Transport

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
Fatty meals induce intestinal secretion of chylomicrons (CMs) containing apolipoprotein (Apo) B48. These CMs travel via the lymphatic system before entering the circulation.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Particle size and composition of dog lymph chylomicrons

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1965
Chyle from the thoracic duct of dogs fed cream or corn oil was fractionated into chylomicrons of different particle size: 200 mμ. The composition of chylomicrons was studied before and after washing with saline solutions.

Intrapulmonary Lymph Nodes.

open access: yesInternal Medicine, 1994
We report two cases of intrapulmonary lymph nodes detected by a chest roentgenogram or CT scan. The first patient was a 61-year-old fisherman referred complaining of cough and hemosputum. Chest roentgenogram showed a subpleural small nodular shadow at the superior segment of the right lower lobe. Thoracotomy showed a small anthracotic lymph node.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Evidence for a contribution by the intestinal wall to the serum cholesterol of the rat

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1965
Rats were fed cholesterol in order to block hepatic cholesterol synthesis, and their intestinal lymph ducts were cannulated. Experiments with these rats showed that cholesterol synthesized in the intestinal wall enters into the circulating cholesterol ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
