Rectal adenocarcinoid with lymph node metastasis
Pathology International, 1999We describe a case of a rare variant of a rectal carcinoid tumor that showed mucous gland differentiation accompanied by a lymph node metastasis with a histological appearance similar to that of the primary site. The tumor consisted of a typical argyrophilic carcinoid component and of goblet cell glands.

Lymph node metastasis of osteosarcomas
Arkhiv patologii, 2016Lymph node metastasis of osteosarcomas is a rather rare phenomenon; according to different authors, the incidence of lymph node metastasis is 4 to 11%. The detection of lymph node metastases in osteosarcoma is associated with a significant reduction in the 5-year survival of patients and allows its classification as clinical stage IV tumor.

Lymph Node Metastasis in Colorectal Cancer
Surgical Oncology Clinics of North America, 2018Pathologic examination of lymph nodes in patients with cancer remains crucial for postoperative treatment and prognosis prediction. In this article, the authors aim to review several important and challenging issues regarding lymph node metastasis in colorectal cancer using the AJCC staging manual, College of American Pathologists cancer protocol, as ...

The treatment strategies for colorectal cancer (CRC) must ensure a radical cure of cancer and prevent over/under treatment. Biopsy specimens used for the definitive diagnosis of T1 CRC were analyzed using artificial intelligence (AI) to construct a risk index for lymph node metastasis.A total of 146 T1 CRC cases were analyzed.

Lymph flow and lymph node metastasis in esophageal cancer
Surgery Today, 1995This paper delineates which lymph nodes should be dissected due to the high frequency of metastasis associated with different types of primarily lesions of the thoracic esophagus. In cancer involving the upper third of the esophagus (Iu), lymph flow was found to be primary from the superior mediastinal area to the cervical area; in that involving the ...

INVASIVE CARCINOMA OF THE VULVA WITH LYMPH NODE METASTASIS
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1966Abstract The subject of lymph node metastasis in invasive carcinoma of the vulva is presented from an evaluation of 23 years' experience by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tulane University School of Medicine. The clinical and histopathologic features of the evaluation and a discussion relating the significance of these features are ...

The Clinical Significance of Lymph-Node Metastasis
2009Lymph nodes are the initial site of metastasis in many cancers. For patients with clinically localized tumors, the pathologic status of regional nodes is the most important prognostic variable, and techniques to evaluate these nodes radiographically and surgically are critical components in management.

Diagnosis and Staging of Lymph Node Metastasis
2000The process of lymph node metastasis is not completely understood. Although we know some basic molecular mechanisms of metastasis, the exact procedure from the initiation of a primary tumour to overt lymph node metastasis remains obscure. A few morphological features of different primary tumours are known to correlate with the probability of lymph node
