Lymphocyte subsets in kala-azar.

Annals of allergy, 1989
We examined lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood from children with visceral leishmaniasis both in the active stage of the disease and after recovery. At diagnosis, CD2+ and CD4+ cells showed a significant decrease while CD8+ cells were significantly increased when compared with controls; CD4/CD8 ratio was inverted.

Lymphocyte subsets in the mammary gland of sows

Research in Veterinary Science, 1993
The presence and localisation of lymphocyte subsets together with class II bearing cells in the mammary gland of sows, were studied at different periods of the reproductive cycle by immunohistochemistry and compared with blood. All cell types involved in the immune response were present in the mammary gland at the different stages of gestation and ...

Lymphocyte subsets in patients with oestrogen deficiency

Journal of Reproductive Immunology, 1991
We have previously shown that in patients with idiopathic premature ovarian failure there were significant changes in lymphocyte subsets. To test our hypothesis that these changes were due to oestrogen deficiency we studied lymphocyte subsets in patients with oestrogen deficiency due to other causes.

Lymphocyte Subsets in the Neonates of Preeclamptic Mothers

American Journal of Reproductive Immunology and Microbiology, 1987
ABSTRACT: With the aid of specific monoclonal antibodies, indirect immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry, peripheral blood lymphocyte populations were studied in 12 preeclamptic mothers and compared with those of ten normal patients at term. As well, lymphocyte subsets from newborns of these preeclamptic mothers and ten normal patients at term were ...

Lymphocyte subsets in patients with aplastic anemia

American Journal of Hematology, 1984
AbstractLymphocyte subsets were enumerated in a group of 31 patients with aplastic anemia. Abnormal numbers of immunoregulatory T‐cells were found in some patients: 26% of them showed a reversed helper/suppressor ratio. Seven of 18 patients showed significantly decreased proliferation in response to PWM; this hyporesponsiveness was present in 75% of ...

Lymphocyte subset abnormalities in canine leishmaniasis

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 1997
Peripheral blood lymphocyte subpopulations were studied in 42 Leishmania infantum-infected dogs using flow cytometry. Twenty-two healthy dogs were used as a control group. Analysis of the B-cell populations showed a reduction in the number of CD21+ cells in all the infected dogs. On the other hand, the disease was found to be associated with a striking

Characterisation of lymphocyte subsets in the equine oviduct

Equine Veterinary Journal, 2006
Summary Reasons for performing study : The equine oviduct is the site of fertilisation and location of embryonic development during the first 5 or 6 days. It therefore has an important influence on mare fertility.

Lymphocyte subsets in primary immune thrombocytopenia

Blood Coagulation & Fibrinolysis, 2014
The aim of this study was to explore the clinical significance of T-lymphocyte subsets in the peripheral blood of patients with adult primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in an active phase. T-lymphocyte subsets in the peripheral blood of 90 ITP patients in the active phase and 59 normal controls were detected by flow cytometry.

Lymphocyte subsets in endometriosis.

Obstetrics and gynecology, 1984
Recent investigations suggested a possible immunologic etiology for endometriosis. To determine whether cellular immunity may be affected in patients with endometriosis, peripheral lymphocyte populations were investigated in 31 confirmed endometriosis patients and 22 control patients.
