Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.

The complex mode of action of the topoisomerase II inhibitor etoposide in triggering apoptosis involves several mechanisms: overexpression of the mitochondrial protein VDAC1, leading to its oligomerization and formation of a large channel that mediates the release of pro‐apoptotic protein; and overexpression of the apoptosis regulators p53, Bax, and ...

Pediatric lymphoma may develop by "one-step" cell transformation of a lymphoid cell [PDF]
Lymphomas are a large group of neoplasms developed from lymphoid cells (LCs) in lymph nodes (LNs) or lymphoid tissues (LTs). Some forms of lymphomas, including Burkitt lymphoma (BL), ALK+ anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALK+-ALCL), and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia (T-LBL), occur mainly in children and teenagers.

The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

Automated Image Analysis of Hodgkin lymphoma [PDF]
Hodgkin lymphoma is an unusual type of lymphoma, arising from malignant B-cells. Morphological and immunohistochemical features of malignant cells and their distribution differ from other cancer types. Based on systematic tissue image analysis, computer-aided exploration can provide new insights into Hodgkin lymphoma pathology. In this paper, we report

Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

18F-FDG-PET dissemination features in diffuse large B cell lymphoma are predictive of outcome [PDF]
We assessed the predictive value of new radiomic features characterizing the lesion dissemination in baseline 18F-FDG PET and tested whether combining them with baseline metabolic tumour volume (MTV) could improve prediction of progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients.

Chemosensitivity testing of revived fresh-frozen biopsies using digital speckle holography [PDF]
Enrolling patients in clinical trials to obtain fresh tumor biopsies to profile anticancer agents can be slow and expensive. However, if flash-frozen biopsies can be thawed to produce viable living tissue with relevant biodynamic profiles, then a large reservoir of tissue-banked samples could become available for phenotypic library building.
