Prognostic Significance of Lymphopenia in Sarcoidosis
Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1979ABSTRACT During 1959‐67, sarcoidosis was diagnosed in a series of 140 patients. All were followed up and 22 developed chronic sarcoidosis. In 134 patients (20 with chronic course) the initial granulocyte, monocyte and lymphocyte counts were known. No differences in granulocyte values were seen between different groups of sarcoidosis patients.

Lymphopenia in histiocytic medullary reticulosis
Clinical & Laboratory Haematology, 2008A survey of the Western literature of histiocytic medullary reticulosis (malignant histiocytosis) provided 104 case reports with sufficient data from which the presence or absence of an absolute lymphopenia could be ascertained. Of these, 46 (44%) were lymphopenic at presentation or within the subsequent 10 days.

Lymphopenia and lymphocyte transformation in alcoholics
Experientia, 1979The basis of peripheral blood lymphopenia observed in patients with chronic alcoholism and liver disease was investigated by examining the effect of sera of these patients on in vitro transformation of normal human peripheral blood lymphocytes. A positive correlation was demonstrated between the serum inhibition of phytohaemagglutinin- and pokeweed ...

T4 lymphopenia in human tuberculosis
Tubercle, 1987Lymphocyte subpopulations in vitro in 13 patients with bacteriologically-proven tuberculosis and 12 matched controls, by immunofluorescence using monoclonal antibodies have been studied. Active tuberculosis was associated with significant reductions in absolute numbers of total T (Leu 4 or 1+), T4 (Leu 3a+) and B (Leu 12+) lymphocytes, but there were ...
