BCG Vaccination and Profound Lymphopenia

Pediatrics, 1964
In the February, 1964, issue of Pediatrics a letter to the Editor was published by Rosen and Janeway, in which a strong point was made that fatal progressive vaccinia following smallpox vaccination in children with agammaglobulinemia may be the result of coexisting congenital thymic alymphoplasia.

Zoledronic acid–induced severe lymphopenia

Osteoporosis International, 2023

Lymphocyte migration and radiation lymphopenia

International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1981
Abstract The dose received by suppressor and helper T lymphocyte subpopulations during a course of pelvic radiation therapy is calculated, taking into account variances in the migration pattern of the two cell types. It is found that the difference in the calculated dose may explain the apparent paradox that the cell type, which is found to be more ...

T4 lymphopenia in human tuberculosis

Tubercle, 1987
Lymphocyte subpopulations in vitro in 13 patients with bacteriologically-proven tuberculosis and 12 matched controls, by immunofluorescence using monoclonal antibodies have been studied. Active tuberculosis was associated with significant reductions in absolute numbers of total T (Leu 4 or 1+), T4 (Leu 3a+) and B (Leu 12+) lymphocytes, but there were ...

Radiation-Induced Lymphopenia

The British Journal of Radiology, 1936
Haematological investigations have been carried out on ten cases of carcinoma undergoing radium therapy, in order to discover whether there is any difference between the lymphocyte content of the blood at the periphery and at the site of irradiation before and after treatment. Virtually identical figures were found in each area before and after therapy,
