Lynx X-Ray Microcalorimeter Cryogenic System [PDF]
The Lynx x-ray microcalorimeter instrument on the Lynx X-ray Observatory requires a state-of-the-art cryogenic system to enable high-precision and high-resolution x-ray spectroscopy.

Management of wolf and lynx conflicts with human interests [PDF]
In many areas viable populations of large carnivores are political goals. One of the most important factors in order to achieve viable large carnivore populations is human tolerance for presence of large carnivores.

The diet of the lynx Lynx lynx in Norway
Stomach content analyses show that roe deer Capreolus capreolus and reindeer Rangifer tarandus constitute the most important food for the lynx Lynx lynx in Norway, particularly during winter. Other important prey items are hares and tetraonids. A change in the diet of females occurs around December towards a higher proportion of cervids.

We tested the effect of using a readily available deep learning algorithm for animal species classification on the population density estimates of eight wild mammal species in 10 protected areas (Da). In general, there were no significant differences to the manual estimates (Dm) for all animal species and seasons.

High-resolution, lightweight, and low-cost x-ray optics for the Lynx observatory
. We describe an approach to build an x-ray mirror assembly that can meet Lynx’s requirements of high-angular resolution, large effective area, light weight, short production schedule, and low-production cost.

Camera traps have become an increasingly popular non‐invasive alternative to animal‐attached devices for studying wildlife behaviour. This study compared wolf (Canis lupus) activity patterns derived from collar accelerometers and road‐positioned camera traps and revealed strong overall agreement but also important seasonal and diel mismatches between ...
