Bioanalytical UHPLC–MS/MS Method for Quantification of Terbinafine in Ungual Delivery Studies

open access: yesBiomedical Chromatography, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Terbinafine is considered the first‐line treatment for dermatophyte‐induced onychomycosis. This study aimed to develop a fast, selective, and sensitive UHPLC–MS/MS method for the quantification of terbinafine in porcine hooves, a cost‐effective surrogate for human nails.

The American Black Bear (Ursus americanus) as an Apex Predator: Investigating the Ecological Role of the World's Most Abundant Large Carnivore

open access: yesMammal Review, Volume 56, Issue 1, March 2026.
Black bears as apex predators. American black bears can (1) produce top‐down effects on ungulates equal to or exceeding those of typical apex predators and (2) modify the spatiotemporal behaviour of other carnivores, including pumas and coyotes. We argue that the term ‘apex predator’ is highly context dependent and not a species‐wide status.

Mechanisms for Belief Elicitation Without Ground Truth

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 505-527, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This review article examines the challenge of eliciting truthful information from multiple individuals when such information cannot be verified, a problem known as “information elicitation without verification.” This article reviews over 25 mechanisms designed to incentivize truth‐telling in such scenarios and their effectiveness in empirical ...

Economic Trade‐Offs of Land Use Change and Wildlife Values

open access: yesNatural Resource Modeling, Volume 39, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Land use conversion entails trade‐offs across multiple ecosystem services of wildlife. Wildlife is often characterized by spatiotemporal dynamics that affect this trade‐off. The aim of this paper is to examine the net benefits from changes in the land use composition, given the consequences for the benefits provided by a harvested migratory ...
