Experientia, 1951Eine aus einer Mischung von Mutanten bestehende Hefekultur wurde lyophilisiert. Nach Verjungung hatte diese Kultur keine Ahnlichkeit mehr mit der Kontrollkultur im Zeitpunkt der Lyophilisierung bzw. der Verjungung. Die genetischen Veranderungen nach Lyophilisierung konnen auf Genmutationen zuruckgefuhrt werden.

Survival of lyophilized yeasts
Medical Mycology, 1962Some members of the genus Candida and genus Saccharomyces are freeze-dried by a relatively new method, which is described in full. Stability of the desiccates is measured by colony counts and tested by exposure to 100°C. and long term storage at room temperature. An attempt is made to correlate the survival under both conditions.

Lyophilization of Human Cytomegaloviruses
Pathologia et Microbiologia, 2008Lyophilization of CMV strains was performed at O°C or at 25°C with or without the addition of Parke, Davis additive. Dried viral preparations were thereafter stored at 4°C or at -20°C and tested for infectivity. The results of experiments have shown that CMV can be lyophilized at O°C with little or no loss of infectivity.

Transfusion, 1993Human red cells (RBCs) were collected in CPDA‐1 and then freeze‐dried in lyoprotective solution. The lyophilized RBCs were then stored at ‐20 degrees C for 7 days. At the end of the storage period, the lyophilized RBCs were rehydrated and washed in dextrose saline.
