Tumor lysis pancreatitis

Medical and Pediatric Oncology, 1979
AbstractRapid tumor lysis may produce acute complications including systemic metabolic disturbances and hemorrhage in sites involved by tumor. We have observed two cases of acute pancreatitis induced by the lysis of lymphoma that involved the pancreas. This previously unreported cause of pancreatitis must be added to the list of potential complications

Immunoprecipitation: Denaturing Lysis

Cold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2006
INTRODUCTIONFor many sources of antigens, one useful method of lysis is to treat cells with harsh, denaturing solutions to release most of the protein antigens, as described here. The lysates are then diluted to reduce the denaturing conditions to levels that are suitable for the formation of antibody-antigen complexes.

Tumor Lysis Syndrome

Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, 2007
Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is an important metabolic disorder frequently encountered in the management of a variety of cancers including lymphoma, leukemia, and neuroblastoma. Delayed recognition can result in a variety of biochemical abnormalities resulting in life-threatening complications such as renal failure, arrhythmias, and seizures ...

Tumour lysis syndrome

Medicina Clínica (English Edition), 2019
Tumour lysis syndrome (TLS) is a life-threatening emergency characterised by a massive cytolysis with the release of intracellular electrolytes, nucleic acids, and metabolites into the circulation. TLS comprises laboratory derangements (hyperuricaemia, hyperkalaemia, hyperphosphataemia, and hypocalcaemia) responsible for acute kidney injury.

Tumor Lysis Syndrome

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2012
Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) refers to the constellation of deranged metabolic state, characterized by hyperkalemia, hyperphosphatemia, hyperuricemia, hypocalcemia, and/or azotemia, secondary to rapid breakdown of tumor cells. It is a life threatening emergency that typically follows administration of chemotherapy or may be spontaneous.

Tumor lysis syndrome

Seminars in Hematology, 2001
Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is a constellation of metabolic disturbances observed in tumors with high cell turnover. It is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. TLS is characterized by the increased release of intracellular contents (uric acid, potassium, phosphorus) into the extracellular compartment, which can overwhelm the body's ...

Tumour lysis syndrome

Nature Reviews Disease Primers
Tumour lysis syndrome (TLS) represents a critical oncological emergency characterized by extensive tumour cell breakdown, leading to the swift release of intracellular contents into the systemic circulation, outpacing homeostatic mechanisms.
