The lyso-precursor of platelet-activating factor (lyso-PAF) in ischaemic myocardium.
Journal of lipid mediators, 1992While it has been postulated that lyso-PAF and PAF might contribute to structural and functional damage in myocardial ischaemia, there has been no clear evidence for the accumulation of these bioactive compounds in ischaemic myocardium. In open chest, anaesthetised dogs, the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery was ligated and myocardial ...

Chromatographic surfaces prepared from lyso phosphatidylcholine ligands
Analytica Chimica Acta, 1994Abstract A chromatographic surface was prepared by immobilizing 1-O-(11-carboxyl)undecyl-2-O-methyl-sn-3-glycerophosphocholine on silica propylamine (loading 127 μmole g of silica) at a monolayer density. This chromatographic surface is denoted as etherIAM.PC; this bonded phase is one type of immobilized artificial membrane (IAM ...

Optical scattering length of LYSO scintillator crystals
2011 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2011We present a new method for the determination of the scattering length of optical photons in scintillator crystals. The new method, based on the direct measurement of the scattered light is compared with the usually applied indirect method. Investigating different samples from two manufacturers, scattering length of 0.55…6.8 m at 405 nm wavelength, and

The release of lyso-PAF from guinea-pig lungs
European Journal of Pharmacology, 1985Lyso-PAF was detected after ionophore challenge in the effluent of lungs of guinea-pigs exposed to oxygen and perfused through the pulmonary circulation as well as of control lungs perfused through the airways. Lyso-PAF is probably the inactive metabolite of PAF-acether which could not, itself, be detected in the lung effluents.

LYSO crystal calorimeter readout with silicon photomultipliers
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2014Abstract Large area Silicon PhotoMultipliers (SiPMs) are the new frontier of the development of readout systems for scintillating detectors. A SiPM consists of a matrix of parallel-connected silicon micropixels operating in limited Geiger–Muller avalanche mode, and thus working as independent photon counters with a very high gain (~106).
