Migalastat HCl reduces globotriaosylsphingosine (lyso-Gb3) in Fabry transgenic mice and in the plasma of Fabry patients. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Fabry disease (FD) results from mutations in the gene (GLA) that encodes the lysosomal enzyme α-galactosidase A (α-Gal A), and involves pathological accumulation of globotriaosylceramide (GL-3) and globotriaosylsphingosine (lyso-Gb3).

Serum lipids profiling perturbances in patients with ischemic heart disease and ischemic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2020
Background Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is a common cardiovascular disorder associated with inadequate blood supply to the myocardium. Chronic coronary ischemia leads to ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM).

Characterization of Lysophospholipase D Activity in Mammalian Cell Membranes

open access: yesCells
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is a lipid mediator that binds to G-protein-coupled receptors, eliciting a wide variety of responses in mammalian cells. Lyso-phospholipids generated via phospholipase A2 (PLA2) can be converted to LPA by a lysophospholipase D

The Effect of Lyso-PAF on Ciliary Activity of Human Paranasal Sinus Mucosa in vitro

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1994
The effect of lyso-PAF on ciliated cells was investigated in vitro. Normal mucosa was surgically obtained from human paranasal sinuses and incubated in the form of tissue culture.

Analysis of Lyso-Globotriaosylsphingosine in Dried Blood Spots [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Laboratory Medicine, 2013
Recently, lyso-globotriaosylsphingosine (lyso-Gb3) was found to be elevated in plasma of treatment naive male patients and some female patients with Fabry Disease (FD). This study tested whether lyso-Gb3 could be analyzed in dried blood spots (DBS) from filter cards and whether concentrations are elevated in newborn infants with FD.

Dietary and biliary phosphatidylcholine activates PKCζ in rat intestine[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2015
Chylomicron output by the intestine is proportional to intestinal phosphatidylcholine (PC) delivery. Using five different variations of PC delivery to the intestine, we found that lyso-phosphatidylcholine (lyso-PC), the absorbed form of PC ...

LYSO based precision timing calorimeters

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2017
In this report we outline the study of the development of calorimeter detectors using bright scintillating crystals. We discuss how timing information with a precision of a few tens of pico seconds and below can significantly improve the reconstruction of the physics events under challenging high pileup conditions to be faced at the High-Luminosity LHC

Formation of Lyso-glycosphingolipids byStreptomycessp [PDF]

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 1995
The actinomycete strain Streptomyces sp. H37 produces a novel glycosphingolipid-degrading enzyme. This strain was capable of converting ganglioside GM1 to lyso-GM1. After cultivation for 5 days in medium containing GM1, peptone, and detergent, GM1 was found to be almost completely converted to lyso-GM1.
