A toolbox to explore the composition of species dynamics behind multi‐species indices

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 7, Page 1821-1832, July 2023., 2023
Abstract In the light of declining biodiversity, monitoring its fate is essential for conservation strategies. Aggregation of temporal change of different species into multi‐species indices such as geometric means makes it possible to identify species groups that are at risk as well as those that are doing well.

The Swedish green infrastructure policy as a policy assemblage: What does it do for biodiversity conservation?

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 839-851, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Green infrastructure (GI) is increasingly used in policymaking to promote biodiversity and enhance ecosystem services through the protection, creation, restoration and connection of natural and man‐made green areas. The EU Commission adopted in 2013, the concept as a strategy. When member states apply the policy, it is translated into specific

Rebuilding green infrastructure in boreal production forest given future global wood demand

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 59, Issue 6, Page 1659-1669, June 2022., 2022
Effects of global socioeconomic developments can be downscaled and accounted for in planning landscape‐scale forest and conservation management. Accounting for indicators of environmental quality identified forest management scenarios for reaching targets on both revenue and conservation.

Participatory mapping reveals biocultural and nature values in the shared landscape of a Nordic UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 4, Issue 2, Page 365-381, April 2022., 2022
Abstract Making the right decisions for sustainable development requires sound knowledge of the values and spatial distribution of the services co‐produced by ecosystems and people. UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere programme and associated Biosphere Reserves (BRs) are key learning sites or model regions for sustainable development providing key entry ...

Temperature‐driven color lightness and body size variation scale to local assemblages of European Odonata but are modified by propensity for dispersal

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 10, Issue 16, Page 8936-8948, August 2020., 2020
We quantified the color lightness and body volume of 99 European dragon‐ and damselflies (Odonata) and combined this trait information with survey data for 518 local assemblages across Europe to test whether trait‐environment relationships previously reported at coarse spatial scales also hold for spatially explicit local assemblages.

Roadside diversity in relation to age and surrounding source habitat: evidence for long time lags in valuable green infrastructure

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 1, Issue 1, July 2020., 2020
Both historical and more recently‐created road verges can host a range of plant species, including remarkable fractions of all the grassland specialists present in the surrounding landscape. Note that the pictured road verges were not part of the study. Abstract 1.
