A Review on Jahn–Teller Distortions in Prussian Blue Analogs Molecular Magnets

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
This review highlights the central role of the Jahn–Teller effect in governing structural stability and electrochemical performance in Prussian blue analogs (PBAs). It establishes clear structure–property relationships and summarizes effective mitigation strategies, providing design guidelines for developing stable, high‐performance PBA‐based energy ...

Spin relaxation in antiferromagnetic Fe–Fe dimers slowed down by anisotropic DyIII ions

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2013
By using Mössbauer spectroscopy in combination with susceptibility measurements it was possible to identify the supertransferred hyperfine field through the oxygen bridges between DyIII and FeIII in a {Fe4Dy2} coordination cluster.

Structural and magnetic investigation of Fe-doped Mn3−xFexO4 (x ≤ 0.1) [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
In this study, structural and magnetic properties of Fe ion-containing manganese ferrites Mn3−xFexO4 (x ≤ 0.1) have been investigated by using x-ray diffraction, superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer, and Mössbauer spectroscopy.

In situ mapping of iron oxidation in laminar metal fuel flames using X‐ray absorption spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
For the first time an iron metal flame has been mapped by in situ X‐ray absorption spectroscopy. Strong gradients in oxidation state and phase composition across the metallic core and the flame front were found with FeO peaking at the visible flame front and Fe3O4 forming further beyond.Metal fuels such as iron are promising carbon‐free energy carriers

Magnetic and Structural Characterization of Mechanically Alloyed Fe50co50 Samples

open access: yesRevista de Ciencias, 2011
Samples of nominal composition Fe50Co50 were produced by mechanical alloying byusing a planetary ball mill and different milling times. The samples were studied via X-raydiffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to ...

Mössbauer and heat capacity studies of ErZnSn2

open access: yesNukleonika, 2017
Heat capacity results obtained for the intermetallic compound ErZnSn2 were re-analysed to also consider, apart from the classical Debye model, the anharmonicity of the crystal lattice and the proper set of Einstein modes.

Entropy‐Driven Innovations: Entropy Stabilized Oxides for High‐Performance Next‐Generation Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 5, September 2026.
This article explores high‐entropy‐stabilized oxides (HEOs) as novel functional materials for addressing critical issues in lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries, including lithium polysulfide (LPS) shuttling, inadequate conductivity, and slow redox kinetics.

Effect of Magnetic Field and Oxygen Pressure on the Decomposition of Sm2Fe17N3 Probed Using 57Fe Mössbauer Spectroscopy

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 15, 5 August 2026.
The decomposition of Sm2Fe17N3 was investigated under flowing and static high‐purity oxygen with and without a 5 T magnetic field. The reaction was governed mainly by the oxygen‐driven chemical potential, while the magnetic‐field effect was limited. Under static oxygen, selective decomposition into Sm oxide and α‐Fe without iron oxides was achieved ...

Single‐Atom Iron‐Catalyzed Oxidative Esterification: From Methylarenes to the Upcycling of Polystyrene and Lignin‐Derived Feedstocks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 31, 27 July 2026.
Heterogeneous iron‐catalyzed environmentally benign and sustainable CH‐oxidative esterification methodology has been developed for the synthesis of esters. This challenging reaction has been achieved by the rational design of specific single atom iron‐based catalyst with Fe‐N4 active centers, which empowered the oxidative esterification of methyl and ...
