In Vitro Antimicrobial Activity and In Vivo Intestinal Barrier Regulation by Commiphora leptophloeos Bark Extract in 5‐Fluorouracil–Induced Mucositis

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the phytochemical composition, antimicrobial activity, and in vivo protective effects of the hydroethanolic extract from Commiphora leptophloeos stem bark (HECL) against 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU)‐induced intestinal mucositis. Despite the extensive traditional use of C.

Phospholipid Glutathione Peroxidase Overexpression Mitigates Cancer Cachexia by Protecting Muscle Mass and Lowering Inflammation

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cancer cachexia is a muscle wasting syndrome that occurs in ~80% of cancer patients and is the primary cause of death for 22%–30% of cancer patients. The primary challenge associated with cancer cachexia is that effective therapies to treat the associated muscle loss and dysfunction are lacking.

Cancer‐Specific Antihuman Podoplanin Antibody chLpMab‐2f Exerts Antitumor Effects Against Pleural Mesothelioma

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 4, Page 917-928, April 2026.
Cancer‐specific antihuman podoplanin antibody chLpMab‐2f exerted antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity and complement‐dependent cytotoxicity against pleural mesothelioma (PM) cell lines. Additionally, chLpMab‐2f inhibited tumor progression in mice with subcutaneously and intrathoracically transplanted human PM cells.
