A photoimmune synergizing RNA interference technology for highly effective antitumor treatment

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
We developed a red‐light‐activated small‐molecule photosensitizer FNBS, which enables simultaneous photodynamic immunotherapy and RNA interference. FNBS can induce pyroptosis, immunogenic cell death and RNA degradation, avoiding the carrier‐dependent delivery drawbacks of conventional RNAi therapy, converting cold tumors into hot tumors and ...

Mapping of C5‐Blocking Monoclonal Antibodies Reveals New C5 Inhibitory Epitopes and Novel Modes of C5 Inhibition

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
We identify four distinct C5 inhibitory epitopes, including two novel antibodies that selectively block membrane attack complex (MAC) assembly while preserving C5 cleavage and C5a generation. These findings establish selective MAC inhibition as a new therapeutic strategy for complement‐mediated diseases.

Placental mitochondrial metabolic adaptation maintains cellular energy balance in pregnancy complicated by gestational hypoxia

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Placental mitochondrial adaptation to gestational hypoxia. Hypoxic pregnancy in sheep increases placental insulin like growth factor 2 (IGF2) signalling (1), which is associated with a shift in capacity away from β‐oxidation (2) and complex I‐mediated respiration (3), while maintaining total oxidative phosphorylation capacity (4).

A primary cell‐based fluidic co‐culture model to investigate drug transport across the human placenta

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic overview of a flow‐driven in vitro model of the human placental barrier designed to study transport processes during pregnancy. The model recreates key features of the maternal–fetal interface, enabling the investigation of how nutrients and therapeutic compounds cross the placental barrier under physiologically ...

Study on Diphenylamine Oxidation by Ozone Using Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 20, 30 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale Diphenylamine (DPAH) derivatives, widely used as antioxidants, interact with oxygen molecules (or ozone) to form radicals at the amine group. Although the antioxidation mechanism involves radical processes, separating these radicals using chromatography is challenging. Methods Rapid oxidation of DPAH was achieved through ozonation in

A Stable Hemicarceplex With an Encapsulated Cationic Guest

open access: yesJournal of Physical Organic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 10, October 2026.
A hemicarcerplex with cobaltocenium ion on the inside and hexafluorophosphate on the outside was synthesized, and both it and its empty hemicarcerand precursor were characterized by X‐ray crystallography. The encapsulation equilibrium constant was also measured, and M06‐2X/cc‐pVDZ model computations are reported. ABSTRACT A hemicarcerand first reported

Alkoxyallenes in Modern Synthesis: Reactivity, Catalysis, and Complexity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 17, 1 September 2026.
The last decade has witnessed a remarkable transformation in alkoxyallene chemistry. Although historically employed as synthetic equivalents of acrolein or as versatile 3C synthons, alkoxyallenes are now increasingly recognized as highly adaptable platforms for synthetic design.
