M-theory and orientifolds [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We construct the M-Theory lifts of type IIA orientifolds based on K3-fibred Calabi-Yau threefolds with compatible involutions. Such orientifolds are shown to lift to M-Theory on twisted connected sum G 2 manifolds.

Inhomogeneous M-Theory Cosmologies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2002
We study a class of inhomogeneous and anisotropic $G_2$ string cosmological models. In the case of separable $G_2$ models we show that the governing equations reduce to a system of ordinary differential equations. We focus on a class of separable $G_2$ M-

The M-theory archipelago [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We combine supersymmetric localization results and the numerical conformal bootstrap technique to study the 3d maximally supersymmetric ( N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 8) CFT on N coincident M2-branes (the U(N) k × U(N) −k ABJM theory at Chern-Simons level k = 1)

On topological M-theory [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, 2005
We construct a gauge fixed action for topological membranes on $G_2$-manifold such that its bosonic part is the standard membrane theory in a particular gauge.

Basics of M-Theory

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, 2005
This is a review article of eleven dimensional supergravity in which we present all necessary calculations, namely the Noether procedure, the equations of motion (without neglecting the fermions), the Killing spinor equation, as well as some simple and ...

Monads, Strings, and M Theory [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1997
The recent developments in string theory suggest that the space-time coordinates should be generalized to non-commuting matrices. Postulating this suggestion as the fundamental geometrical principle, we formulate a candidate for covariant second ...

“Lagrangian disks” in M-theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
While the study of bordered (pseudo-)holomorphic curves with boundary on Lagrangian submanifolds has a long history, a similar problem that involves (special) Lagrangian submanifolds with boundary on complex surfaces appears to be largely overlooked in ...

M-Theory, Torons and Confinement [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1997
We study the decompactification limit of M-theory superpotentials for N=1 four dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories. These superpotentials can be interpreted as generated by toron configurations.

Higher Structures in M-Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The key open problem of string theory remains its non-perturbative completion to M-theory. A decisive hint to its inner workings comes from numerous appearances of higher structures in the limits of M-theory that are already understood, such as higher ...

Wall Crossing and M-theory [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2009
We study BPS bound states of D0 and D2 branes on a single D6 brane wrapping a Calabi-Yau 3-fold X. When X has no compact 4-cyles, the BPS bound states are organized into a free field Fock space, whose generators correspond to BPS states of spinning M2 ...
