Let G be a finite simple non-Abelian group. t is an involution of G, and L=O2 (CG(t)/O · (CG(t))). K the center Z(L) is cyclic and L/Z(L)-PGL (2, q), q odd, then either a Sylow 2-subgroup of G is semidihedral or CG(t)Z2×PGL (2.5) and G is isomorphic to the Mathieu group M12 of degree 12.

The pyrimidine catalogs of M12 and R17 ribonucleic acids
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1968Abstract The RNA's from the bacteriophages M12 and R17, were digested with pancreatic ribonuclease to yield pyrimidine mononucleotides and pyrimidineterminated oligonucleotides. All the non-isomeric digestion products were separated by ion exchange chromatography.

An M12(L(1))12(L(2))12 cantellated tetrahedron: a case study on mixed-ligand self-assembly.
Angewandte Chemie, 2014In the self-assembly of Pd(II) ions and two different, but similarly shaped, ligands (1 and 2), neither random mixing nor self-sorting of the two ligands into two unmixed structures was observed.

Interference of bacteriophage T4 in the reproduction of RNA-phage M12
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1967Abstract The RNA-phage M12 is excluded from producing progeny phage following mixed infection with phage T4 (or with T4 am mutants). A small fraction of the infected cells produce some M12 (“escape yielders”), but the burst size is drastically reduced. The failure of most cells to liberate M12 is not due to an inhibition of lysis.

The trinity of polyoxometalates: connecting {M12} Keggin and {M18} Dawson clusters to triangles.
Chemical Communications, 2009Two topologically equivalent triangular POM aggregates based upon the Keggin () and Dawson () cluster species, with distinctive double {W-O-M} intra-molecular linkages involving Mn(III) and Co(III) ions are presented; both these compounds demonstrate ...

Secondary structure of RNA phage M12 replicative intermediates in vivo
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1973Abstract The double strandedness of in vivo pulse-labelled phage M12 Replicative Form (RF) and Replicative Intermediate (RI) RNA was determined (1) in crude extracts of an RNAase I − and III − Escherichia coli strain and (2) subsequent to deproteinization by the phenol procedure. When assayed by two different methods, i.e.

Space motions of globular clusters NGC 362 and NGC 6218 (M12)
, 1991We measured the absolute proper motions of NGC 6218 (M12) against distant galaxies and of NGC 362 against stars of the Small Magellanic Cloud (typical accuracy ±0″.13 cent −1 ). The results are combined with these of the two studied clusters NGC 4147 and
