Characterization of a New M13 Metallopeptidase from Deep-Sea Shewanella sp. E525-6 and Mechanistic Insight into Its Catalysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Bacterial extracellular peptidases are important for bacterial nutrition and organic nitrogen degradation in the ocean. While many peptidases of the M13 family from terrestrial animals and bacteria are studied, there has been no report on M13 peptidases ...

Studies on Bacteriophage M13 DNA. 2. The Gene Order of the M13 Genome [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1975
The double-stranded replicative form DNA of bacteriophage M13 was cleaved into 13 specific fragments by the restriction endonuclease from Haemophilus aphirophilus. The individual DNA fragments from wild-type replicative form molecules were then annealed to circular, single-stranded DNAs of phage M13, bearing amber mutations as genetic markers.

Radical‐Based On‐Surface Transformation of Nonplanar Aromatics Into Nonbenzenoid Nanographenes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Formation of radicals in nonplanar hydrocarbons through thermally induced dehydrogenation leads to molecular transformation via intramolecular radical‐based cyclization and dimerization, leading to formation of nonbenzenoid nanographenes. ABSTRACT On‐surface synthesis has emerged as a powerful tool for atomically precise C─C bond formation, enabling ...

M13 multiple stellar populations seen with the eyes of Stromgren photometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a photometric study of M13 multiple stellar populations over a wide field of view, covering approximately 6.5 half-light radii, using archival Isaac Newton Telescope observations to build an accurate multiband Strömgren catalogue.

Playing games with EPR-type experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An approach towards quantum games is proposed that uses the unusual probabilities involved in EPR-type experiments directly in two-player games.Comment: Submitted to the J. Phys. A: Maths & Gen., revised in the light of referees' comments, 14 pages, no

Different Characteristics of the Bright Branches of the Globular Clusters M3 and M13

open access: yes, 2005
We carried out wide-field BVI CCD photometric observations of the GCs M3 and M13 using the BOAO 1.8 m telescope equipped with a 2K CCD. We present CMDs of M3 and M13. We have found AGB bumps at V = 14.85 for M3 at V = 14.25 for M13.

New halo stars of the Galactic globular clusters M3 and M13 in the LAMOST DR1 Catalog

open access: yes, 2016
M3 and M13 are Galactic globular clusters with previous reports of surrounding stellar halos. We present the results of a search for members and extratidal cluster halo stars within and outside of the tidal radius of these clusters in the LAMOST Data ...

Mass Outflow and Chromospheric Activity of Red Giant Stars in Globular Clusters II. M13 and M92 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
High resolution spectra of 123 red giant stars in the globular cluster M13 and 64 red giant stars in M92 were obtained with Hectochelle at the MMT telescope.

Constraints on the distance moduli, helium and metal abundances, and ages of globular clusters from their RR Lyrae and non-variable horizontal-branch stars. II. Multiple stellar populations in 47Tuc, M3, and M13

open access: yes, 2017
We present a new set of horizontal-branch (HB) models computed with the MESA stellar evolution code. The models adopt $\alpha$-enhanced \cite{ags09} metals mixtures and include the gravitational settling of He.
