Tachyonic anti-M2 branes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2014
We study the dynamics of anti-M2 branes in a warped Stenzel solution with M2 charges dissolved in fluxes by taking into account their full backreaction on the geometry. The resulting supergravity solution has a singular magnetic four-form flux in the near-brane region.

ABJ(M) and Fractional M2's with Fractional M2 Charge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Recently Aharony, Bergman and Jafferis (ABJ) have argued that a 3d U(N+M)xU(N) Chern-Simons gauge theory at level (k,-k) may have a vacuum with N=6 supersymmetry only if MM(M-k)-1 with no restriction on the B-field.

M2-M5 blackfold funnels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We analyze the basic M2-M5 intersection in the supergravity regime using the blackfold approach. This approach allows us to recover the 1/4-BPS self-dual string soliton solution of Howe, Lambert and West as a three-funnel solution of an effective ...

Infant Mortality and Child-Naming: A Genealogical Exploration of American Trends

open access: yesJournal of Public and Professional Sociology, 2010
Parallel with anthropological literature, analysis of genealogical data shows a strong relationship between infant mortality rates and allowing deceased infants to remain unnamed. This was especially true for infants dying shortly after birth. Findings

Interpreting the M2-brane Action [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The world-volume theory of multiple M2-branes proposed recently has a free scalar field. For large vev of this scalar field the world-volume action reduces to that of multiple D2-branes with Yang-Mills coupling proportional to the vev.

N-acetyl cysteine ameliorates aortic fibrosis by promoting M2 macrophage polarization in aging mice

open access: yesRedox Report, 2021
Background: Vascular fibrosis is a universal phenomenon associated with aging, and oxidative stress plays an important role in the genesis of vascular damage in line with the aging process.

Unpacking the provision of the industrial commons in Industry 4.0 cluster

open access: yesEconomics and Business Review, 2019
This paper argues that provision of industrial commons (IC), might be considered as a crucial factor of a cluster’s attractiveness in digital transformation, e.g. in Industry 4.0 (I4.0) time.

The Economic Influence on Consumers Buying Behavior in Islamic Countries: Evidence from the COVID-19 Economic Crisis

open access: yesECONOMICS, 2021
The Covid-19 pandemic has ushered in a new age in the world. We are still grappling with the implications in various areas of our everyday lives. The impulsive buying habits of consumers, the supply chain, and the whole industry are not exceptions ...

Variation in General Price Level in Pakistan: A Recent Evidence by Using ARDL Approach (1974-2016) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management, Accounting and Economics, 2020
The main purpose of this study to investigate the impact of the bank rate, budget deficit, FDI and money supply M2 on inflation in the case of Pakistan applying the ARDL model using yearly data from 1974-2016.

A Massive Study of M2-brane Proposals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We test the proposals for the worldvolume theory of M2-branes by studying its maximally supersymmetric mass-deformation. We check the simplest prediction for the mass-deformed theory on N M2-branes: that there should be a set of discrete vacua in one-to ...
