ABSTRACT This study aimed to verify the stability of cinnamon essential oil (CEO) nanoemulsions after their incorporation into polymer‐based coatings for the control of anthracnose in mangoes. A 0.75% CEO emulsion with Tween 80 was produced via ultrasonication and incorporated into sodium alginate (1%) and carboxymethylcellulose (0.5%) solutions, with ...

Fragrance molecules release is influenced by skin type, with the effect varying depending on the specific fragrance compound. Two patterns of behaviour have been observed among fragrance molecules: the more volatile compounds whose evaporation increases with surface skin roughness and the less volatile and more lipophilic compounds influenced by skin ...

A Study of Compact Radio Sources in Nearby Face-on Spiral Galaxies. II. Multiwavelength Analyses of Sources in M51 [PDF]
We report the analysis of deep radio observations of the interacting galaxy system M51 from the Very Large Array, with the goal of understanding the nature of the population of compact radio sources in nearby spiral galaxies.

Automated identification of spotted‐fever tick vectors using convolutional neural networks
We evaluate the performance of convolutional neural networks (CNN) AlexNet, ResNet‐50 and MobileNetV2 for the automated identification of tick species capable of transmitting spotted fever. CNNs achieved accuracy rates of ~90% in identifying ticks and showed sensitivities of 59%–100% according to species, sex, position or image resolution.

The stars that end their lives as supernovae (SNe) have been directly observed in only a handful of cases, due mainly to the extreme difficulty in identifying them in images obtained prior to the SN explosions.

X-ray emission from the extended disks of spiral galaxies
We present a study of the X-ray properties of a sample of six nearby late-type spiral galaxies based on XMM-Newton observations. Since our primary focus is on the linkage between X-ray emission and star formation in extended, extranuclear galactic disks,
