ABSTRACT Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) exhibits high transparency and stiffness but suffers from intrinsic brittleness. Although PMMA/acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) blends have been explored for toughening, there remains a lack of systematic understanding of how different compatibilization strategies affect the balance between mechanical ...

The 3-dimensional structure of NGC 891 and M51 [PDF]
AbstractWe investigate the three-dimensional structure of the nearby edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 891 using 3D Monte Carlo radiative transfer models, with realistic spiral structure and fractally clumped dust. Using the spiral and clumpiness parameters found from recently completed scattered light models we produce lower resolution SED models which ...

Abstract In recent decades, tropical cyclone (TC) track forecasting has improved significantly. However, prediction of TC genesis (TCG) remains challenging. Accurate prediction of TCG is critical for disaster prevention and mitigation. This study develops an interpretable deep learning model that integrates 3D‐residual blocks with gated recurrent units

ABSTRACT Multicomponent mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MMBGs) were engineered to enable coupled ionic and molecular release for controlled ionic and molecular release applications. The nanoparticles (70SiO2–20CaO–4B2O3–3ZnO–3CuO, mol%) were synthesized via a microemulsion‐assisted sol–gel route, yielding spherical particles (∼560 nm) with ...

Schematic representation of the processing and multiscale characterization of nanocellulose films from different botanical sources. ABSTRACT Although the influence of botanical origin on nanocellulose properties is well recognized, an integrated multiscale framework linking chemical composition, fractal surface descriptors, and nanomechanical behavior ...

Systemic immune dysregulation in patients experiencing urogynaecological mesh failure
Abstract Objectives This study aimed to investigate the systemic immune landscape in patients experiencing urogynaecological mesh failure. The use of urogynaecological mesh was paused in the UK following an independent safety review that found ~1 in 15 women required removal due to complications. However, the mechanisms underpinning mesh failure remain

Tracing the Stellar Mass in M51
We present optical and IR surface photometry of M51 (NGC 5194) at B, V, R, I, J, K, and CO(2.3 μm). These data are used to establish whether K band (2.2 μm) images of spiral galaxies provide reliable maps of stellar surface mass density features such as massive spiral arms or bars.
