Cyclic codes over R3,m

Discrete Mathematics, Algorithms and Applications, 2019
Let [Formula: see text] be the ring [Formula: see text]. We study cyclic codes of arbitrary length [Formula: see text] over the ring [Formula: see text] and obtain a complete characterization for them by presenting a unique set of generators for these codes.

Second-order coding rate for m-class source-channel codes

2015 53rd Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2015
The second-order coding rate for source-channel codes with m levels of unequal message protection (UMP) is derived. The second-order coding rate takes the form of an optimization problem which reduces to separate source-channel coding rate for m = 2. A procedure for solving the given optimization problem is proposed. The proposed procedure exploits the

Multistage index assignments for M-description coding

Proceedings 2003 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.03CH37429), 2004
We consider the problem of generalized multiple description coding of image data, in which an image is encoded into M descriptions sent over M unreliable channels, and any description subset is useful in reconstructing an approximation of the original image.

Multistage coding and decoding for a M-PSK system

[Proceedings] GLOBECOM '90: IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference and Exhibition, 2002
Punctured convolutional codes are applied to a sequence of subsets of the signal set which is coded using block and/or convolutional codes in the Gaussian channel. The maximum-likelihood metric for the different stages of multistage decoding are derived.

Coded Spreading with m-sequences

2005 IEEE 61st Vehicular Technology Conference, 2005
Maximum length shift register (MLSR) sequences are utilized for joint channel coding and data spreading. Compared to uncoded spreading, more than 5 dB coding gain is obtained at BER of 10/sup -3/ in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. The coding gain increases up to 22 dB in Rayleigh fading channels.

M-LCELP speech coding at 4 kbps

Proceedings of ICASSP '94. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2002
This paper presents the M-LCELP (multi-mode learned code excited LPC) speech coder, which has been developed for the North American half-rate digital cellular systems. M-LCELP develops the following techniques to achieve high-quality synthetic speech at 4 kbps: (1) Multimode and multi-codebook coding, (2) Pitch lag differential coding with pitch ...

Successive Coding Strategy in the m-helper Problem

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006
We evaluate the performance of the successive coding strategy for the problem of multiterminal lossy coding of correlated Gaussian sources. We consider the m-helper problem for the special case of m = 1 where one source provides partial side information to the decoder to help reconstruction of the main source signal. Our results reconfirm the fact that

Trellis-coded M-ary orthogonal modulation

Proceedings IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications, 2002
We have introduced the trellis-coded M-ary (M=32) 4-dimensional (4-D) orthogonal modulation scheme. Here, a rate 4/5 convolutional encoder generates one of 32 possible symbols every T seconds. Then the signal mapping for 32 symbols is performed by a M-ary 4-D orthogonal modulator.

Color encoded display of M code echocardiograms

Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 1976
AbstractThe need for increased dynamic range of echoes in echocardiography is discussed. A method for acquiring color coded echocardiograms is described and advantages as well as disadvantages are discussed. Typical results of color coded echocardiograms advantagesasare shown.
