OFF-DESIGN OPERATION OF IMPELLER OF THE CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR

open access: yesPamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2004
Inducer and discharge dimensions of impellers of centrifugal compressor are determined as a preliminary design. Blockage factor and inducer dimensionless mass flow are exercised in relation with the relative Mach number.

Low Mach Number Limit of Steady Euler Flows in Multi-Dimensional Nozzles [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper, we consider the steady irrotational Euler flows in multidimensional nozzles. The first rigorous proof on the existence and uniqueness of the incompressible flow is provided. Then, we justify the corresponding low Mach number limit, which is the first result of the low Mach number limit on the steady Euler flows.

Enhancing Efficiency in Multiscale Simulation: Comparing a Lagrange Multiplier Based Approach and a Weak Staggered Coupling With Optional SPML Interface for Wave Propagation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The representation of material failure due to wave propagation is essential for the numerical analysis of engineering structures under high dynamic loading. Explicit time integration schemes are well established for this kind of application.

Assessing the Impact of Partial Decellularization on Tracheal Chondrocytes and Extracellular Matrix in Airway Reconstruction

open access: yesOtolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Partially decellularized tracheal grafts (PDTG) are potential candidates for tracheal replacement as they support neotissue formation without stenosis or rejection. However, the effects of partial decellularization (PD) on extracellular matrix (ECM) and chondrocytes are not currently understood, limiting PDTG translatability for ...

Fracture toughness characterization of carbon fiber‐reinforced thermoplastic composites under ultrasonic frequency

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Dynamic fracture toughness characterization of carbon fiber‐reinforced composites under ultrasonic frequency. Abstract The separation and evaluation of fiber layers with residual polymers are pivotal processes within materials‐circularity strategies in composites.

Cross‐country disparities in skill premium and skill acquisition

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, Volume 61, Issue 1, Page 179-198, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Skilled individuals are rewarded more in poor than in rich countries. Why aren't more individuals acquiring skills in poor countries? We document that the unemployment rate of the skilled net of that of the unskilled decreases with a country's level of development.

Advantage of Non‐Gaussian Operations in Phase Estimation via Mach–Zehnder Interferometer

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This research delves into the advantages rendered by probabilistic non‐Gaussian operations in phase estimation, using Mach–Zehnder interferometers with difference‐intensity and parity detection measurement schemes. An experimentally viable scheme is considered to implement three distinct non‐Gaussian operations, namely, photon subtraction, photon ...

Universal Multiport Interferometers for Post‐Selected Multi‐Photon Gates

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
New photonic post‐selected controlled gates, like CNOT and Toffoli gates, are found by using dual‐rail path encoding, auxiliary single photons and universal multiport interferometers. These results show not only an improvement in the success probabilities of the multi‐photon gates, but also new uses of MZI networks for gate‐based linear optical quantum

Multi‐Photon Fock State Generation via Selective Single Photon Subtraction in a Cascaded Waveguide QED System

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This work proposes a photon subtraction scheme, termed ′photon culling′, that enables the selective extraction of a single photon based on its arrival time relative to other photons. This scheme enables the generation of multi‐photon Fock states with high fidelity and modal purity, demonstrating significant potential for quantum metrology applications ...
