Flux observer algorithms for direct torque control of brushless doubly-fed reluctance machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Direct Torque Control (DTC) has been extensively researched and applied to most AC machines during the last two decades. Its first application to the Brushless Doubly-Fed Reluctance Machine (BDFRM), a promising cost-effective candidate for drive and ...

MACHINE-TRANSFORMER UNITS FOR WIND TURBINES

open access: yesElectrical Engineering & Electromechanics, 2016
Background. Electric generators of wind turbines must meet the following requirements: they must be multi-pole; to have a minimum size and weight; to be non-contact, but controlled; to ensure the maximum possible output voltage when working on the power supply system. Multipole and contactless are relatively simply realized in the synchronous generator

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Comparison of motor stator teeth built of soft magnetic composite and laminated silicon steel sheets in an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper compares the iron losses generated by the concentrated excitation windings for the axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine stator core elements constructed with laminated silicon steel sheets and soft magnetic composites. The two types

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Preliminary Investigations of Induction Motor Supplied with Voltage Containing Subharmonics Using Field and Field-circuit Methods

open access: yesScientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University, 2018
This work is devoted to preliminary investigations concerning the effect of an inertia moment and load-speed characteristics on currents, power losses and windings temperature of an induction machine supplied with voltage containing subharmonics.

Fault operation analysis of a novel dual-three-phase dual-rotor flux-switching permanent magnet machine

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
In this paper, based on the conventional flux-switching permanent magnet (PM) (FSPM) machine, a novel dual-three-phase dual-rotor FSPM machine with PMs of NS layout (NS-DRFSPM) is proposed.

Performance estimation of interior permanent-magnet brushless motors using the voltage-driven flux-MMF diagram [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The flux-magnetomotive force (flux-MMF) diagram, or "energy conversion loop," is a powerful tool for computing the parameters of saturated interior permanent-magnet brushless motors, especially when the assumptions underlying classical dq theory are not ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
