Parameter Identifiability in Statistical Machine Learning: A Review

This review examines the relevance of parameter identifiability for statistical models used in machine learning. In addition to defining main concepts, we address several issues of identifiability closely related to machine learning, showing the advantages and disadvantages of state-of-the-art research and demonstrating recent progress.

The portability and runtime safety of programs which are executed on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) makes the JVM an attractive target for compilers of languages other than Java. Unfortunately, the JVM was designed with language Java in mind, and lacks many of the primitives required for a straightforward implementation of other languages.

An, equivalent circuit is suggested to represent the d-c machine when operating under near normal current conditions. This equivalent circuit contains resistances, inductances, and speed-voltage constants. Certain d-c tests are suggested for obtaining the resistances and speed-voltage constants.

A Novel Parameter Estimation Method for Boltzmann Machines

We propose a novel estimator for a specific class of probabilistic models on discrete spaces such as the Boltzmann machine. The proposed estimator is derived from minimization of a convex risk function and can be constructed without calculating the normalization constant, whose computational cost is exponential order.
